Chelmsford Beer and Cider Festival

Chelmsford Beer and Cider Festival

We’re on countdown to the annual Summer CAMRA Chelmsford Beer and Cider Festival at Admirals Park in Chelmsford.  This summer highlight in the Real Ale calendar runs from Tues 5th July through to Saturday 9th July from 12noon – 2300.  Find out more here.

Brewery Bar

Bishop Nick will be hosting their own independent brewery bar again so come and see us and our fellow Essex brewers in the tent.

We will be launching our new Stout at the Summer Chelmsford Beer and Cider Festival.  DEVOUT (5.3%) is a smooth dark beer packed with rich malt flavours balanced with sweet toffee and bitter chocolate deliciousness.  Come and judge for yourself but we’re pretty sure you’ll love it.

We’ll also have FETE (4.5%) on the bar if you’ve not tried it.  This rich golden ale has proven to be extremely popular summer choice.  Now available in bottle but bit thin on the ground in cask now.  It’s a ‘grab it before it’s gone’ Limited Edition after all.

The Summer Chelmsford Beer and Cider Festival has always been a high point in the year for real ale enthusiasts, but when it was first held back in July 1977, and for some years afterwards, it was very different to the festival you know and love today.  Read more about it here…

Revelry Day 2016

Revelry Day 2016

News Topical

Revelry Day was a great success.  Generations of local families celebrated Fathers Day with us on site at the brewery.  Our doors were open for the afternoon and Nelion Ridley conducted Brewery Tours.  Our current range of cask ales were on tap and 900 pints were consumed.  I think it can now be said that we can indeed organise a p**s up in a brewery.

How did it go?

We reckon we had a good 500 plus come through the gates. Mark from Mersea Island provided a sizzling hog roast and BBQ.  Brigitte from Molly Moos Ices brought her beautiful vintage ice-cream van and home made ices.  We had William Cousins and his traditional Punch and Judy outfit and he shaped hundreds of balloons for the children during the course of the afternoon.  Sarah from Felsted Vineyard came and sold her English wines too.  We had a supervised bouncy castle obstacle course and the children were having a high old time.  Some with painted faces!

This was the third event of its kind and feedback proves that people are now making an annual note of it in their diary.  It is a perfect way to spend fathers day.  Something for all the family.  Our brewery shop is open for the whole afternoon and we have special offers on our bottled range for the day.

Make a note for 18th June 2017 if you fancy coming along to the next one.
