Champion Beer of Britain

We scooped the much coveted Champion Beer of Britain award yesterday at Olympia’s Great British Beer Festival. Our leading brand Ridley’s Rite won SILVER in the hotly-contested ‘Bitters’ category and went on to win SILVER overall making our 3.6% session bitter the second best beer in the country according to the leading Real Ale industry body CAMRA.

Ridley’s Rite also won SILVER in Bitters Category at the Champion Beers of East Anglia competition judged in 2016 and this endorsement at national level is incredibly prestigious especially at a time when competition is at an all-time high.

The award follows almost a year of local tasting panels and regional heats, allowing the best beers from across the UK to compete at the GBBF. Final judging for the competition was held at the GBBF, where more than 50,000 people are expected to sample from more than 900 beers, ciders, perries and fine wines.

Nelion Ridley collected the awards on behalf of his team at the ceremony at Olympia on Tuesday 8th August in the afternoon in the company of brewers from across the nation and enthusiasts from all over the world.

Nelion said…

“It is very rewarding to receive recognition for our beers by the industry and I’m proud of my team who work with passion to create them. The fact that the panel ‘blind taste’ the beers is particularly gratifying because it eliminates any prejudice from the competition and we know the beers stand up.”

Ridley's Rite is available in cask and 500ml bottle. We anticipate demand being quite high in the shot term so grab some while you can!
