    SEEKING AN EXPERIENCED BREWER

    We have an Experienced Brewer Vacancy at Bishop Nick, our 20bbl brewery based in the heart of Essex.

    Founded in 2011 by Nelion Ridley – sixth generation of Essex’s preeminent brewing family, Bishop Nick is an award-winning producer of fine traditional Real Ales. Bishop Nick stands firm with its regular line-up of uncompromising hand-crafted ales which are complimented by a zesty range of Limited Editions which surprise and delight with the changing seasons. Available in cask and bottle.

    Bishop Nick has attracted a forward thinking work hard play hard bunch of passionate individuals. The company has a rich legacy steeped in history but is light on its feet and has a sense of humour.

    We are seeking a hard-working and experienced brewer who will be responsible for and involved in all aspects of the brew process using a specially commissioned 2yr old 20bbl plant.

    This pivotal role encompasses brew preparation, solo brewing, testing, yeast collection, packaging and cleaning through to preparing orders for distribution and occasional local deliveries.

    As a team, everyone is required to represent Bishop Nick at various events and Beer Festivals. Early starts and occasional weekend shifts come with this key position.

    Applicants must have: A minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in a similar environment and sound appreciation of quality control, hygiene & food safety procedures.

    Our new brewer must be reliable and responsible with a “happy to muck in” approach to work and a methodical attention to detail. This is a physically demanding position thus requires a good level of fitness. (Must be able to lift 25kg sacks)
