Bishop Nick has a Head Brewer vacancy.

We're expanding and this is a superb opportunity for an experienced individual who is a personable, driven team-player with enthusiasm for and an in-depth knowledge of the Real Ale industry.

This is a hands-on, full time and permanent position. Our leading brand, Ridley's Rite has just won SILVER Champion Beer of Britain so it's an exciting time for Bishop Nick. A great opportunity.

Job Description

Title:                          Head Brewer

Salary:                       Negotiable based on experience

Hours:                       42 hours per week. Typically Monday – Friday

                            (Occasional weekend/evenings)

 Responsible for:

All aspects of the Production, Packaging and Distribution.

Production

  • Planning brew schedule to meet production targets including stock management and ordering raw materials.
  • Brew process including related cleaning.
  • Contribute to the extension of the current product range in liaison with management.

Packaging            Ensuring efficient and quality-controlled packaging of beers.

Distribution        Planning delivery schedule in liaison with sales staff and supervise delivery staff.

Other duties include:

Hosting               Hosting ‘Brew Day Experiences’ and Brewery tours/tastings in partnership with Nelion Ridley 

Events

  • Assisting in the planning of on-site events and off-site festivals where Bishop Nick has an official presence.
  • Deputising for Nelion Ridley on occasion as representative of Bishop Nick at industry events.

Shop                       Taking card and cash payment for items purchased in the brewery shop.

Brewery, Warehouse & Yard                 Maintaining a clean, tidy and presentable working environment.

Keyholder            Opening up or secure closing of the entire brewery site when first in or last out of the unit.
