Pump Takeover

Bishop Nick Pump Takeover at The New Inn Colchester.

The New Inn, Colchester, are due to host a 'brewery takeover'  for 4 days: Thurs 13th - Sun 16th October.  Bishop Nick will take over five pumps, staff the bar and events are planned throughout the weekend.

For 4 days, Bishop Nick will be showcasing 5 of their ales with a guest beer from Felstar Brewery and as Joe and his team are keeping this event inside their pub, it’s very likely that one of the Bishop Nick team will be serving you your drinks !

For this event, The New Inn will run a limited food menu inside the pub rather than do a weekend BBQ.  Scotch Eggs (3 flavours) & Onion Pakoras (vegan) from their main menu will be available Thursday to Saturday. They will also be running a full Sunday Lunch Menu from 12-5pm on Sunday with the offer of a free pint of ale for every adult lunch bought (booking strongly advised).

Thursday - Opening night with Claire from our sales team
Friday - Meet The Brewer - an informal chat with Nelion Ridley
Saturday 8pm - Music by Gavin Bowern followed by Natasha Robertson.
Sunday 12noon-5pm - Sunday Lunch with a free pint for every adult or soft drink for child
Sunday Night- Quiz Night from 7:30pm, £2pp, Teams of 4 max.
1st Prize: £50 Voucher to eat at The New Inn. 2nd Prize: A MiniPin of Bishop Nick ale. All proceeds to our nominated charity EACH.

Beers on offer:

Ridley’s Rite 3.6% Traditional East Anglian amber session beer

Embers 3.8% Limited Edition amber ale. A bonfire of a beer for Autumn.

Heresy 4.0% Refreshing golden ale with a gentle spicy bitterness and citrus aroma.

1555 - 4.3% Full-bodied rich tawny ale with a distinctly sweet nutty taste.

Witch Hunt - 4.2% Devilishly dark porter defined by roasted chocolate malt.

Guest Beer:
Felstar Brewery's Crix Forest - 4.0% An intense, dark mild with a delicate sweetness akin to forest fruits.

Our nominated charity for the event is EACH (East Anglian Children’s Hospices).
